We are breeders of Royal Dutch sporthorses.

The Royal Warmblood Studbook of the Netherlands, (KWPN), is a breeding organization that has consistently achieved international success in equestrian sports and has produced very desirable amateur horses as well.

The Royal Dutch horse's success is based on strict standards and selection which produce a horse that is athletic, intelligent, and willing to do what is asked of him. A Dutch horse has good conformation, which ensures its soundness, and a temperament which makes the horse a pleasure to own.

We. at The Red Barn Ranch, strive to follow the KWPN General Breeding Goal, which is to produce a performance horse that:

can perform at Grand Prix level
has a constitution that enables long usefulness
has a character that supports the will to perform as well as being agreeable and good natured towards people
has functional conformation and a correct movement mechanism that will enable good performance
has an attractive exterior that is related to refinement, nobility and quality

Our mares come from exceptional, perfomance-tested and successful bloodlines. See mares and sires pages for details.

We breed one to two foals per year. They grow up on 20 acres of rolling hills while receiving human interaction and developing age-appropriate skills.

The Red Barn Ranch is located in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, 40 miles NE of Sacramento, California. One may easily visit using Sacramento's International Airport.
